Plumbing emergency in the Inner West
Ed loved it when all the tourists came to Sydney in the Summer. He had converted his sprawling house into a backpackers just so he could offer budget accommodation to backpackers. It was mostly dormitory style accommodation.
November was just rolling in and Edward was prepared for busy days ahead. They were fun to have around though housekeeping became tough.
As expected, Ed’s place saw an influx of 10-12 youngsters, the next week. They were a boisterous group, in their early twenties.
Early next morning, someone came to him with a huge plumbing emergency. Many of the toilets in the dormitory were blocked. Edward was aghast. How could so many toilets shut down at once? Something had to be done immediately!
He got on the phone to contact the people who always did their plumbing work. He knew that they were available 24/7. Toilets that did not flush were the unthinkable for an establishment like his.
Fortunately, this Newtown plumber had a large network and they serviced clients in the inner West area including, Annandale, Camperwest, Chippendale, Darlington, Forest Lodge, Glebe, Stanmore, Petersham, Lilyfield, Erskinville, St Peters and Marrickville. So, he knew he could depend on them to get him the speediest service possible.
As expected, a plumber from Inner West came down to Newtown that very afternoon to help Edward clear the blocked toilets. As he started work on the blocked toilets, Edward was both pained and horrified. The group of hooligans who had left the inn a day back had flushed down entire rolls of toilet paper and stuff that was best left unsaid. The plumber from Inner West even retrieved used plastic cups from the toilets!
After 2 hours of hard work, all the toilets were functioning again.
“The next time you see those people, just tell them that you’ll set the dogs on them”, said the plumber sympathetically as he saw the anger and outrage on Ed’s face.
“Well, I’m just grateful to your Inner West plumbing company for responding to a dire emergency so quickly!”
Edward did not forget to get in touch with the plumbing network and thank them specifically for their speedy service.
These days, he has a board in the bathroom requesting guests to throw waste in the brightly colored waste bins!
