Hot water trouble at the Bayes home in Inner West

It unusually cold this week, Christy thought as she fed her twins. The babies had been cranky because of their vaccinations.

Christy was looking forward to a warm bath and a few hours of sleep before the twins woke up for their midnight feed.

As she readied for the shower, she noticed that water was leaking through the roof of the bathroom onto the floor. She knew this was the hot water service on its way out. She made a mental note to call the plumber after her husband returned from his week-long business trip. But, as she turned the hot water tap no hot water came out.

For Christy, this was a dire emergency. They were a large family, what with two girls and the twins everybody needed hot water in the morning. With her husband away for the week, she had no idea how she would tide over the hot water emergency.

She quickly stepped out and started searching through the teledex, Christy knew that Charles kept all such information safely. There it was! Bless him.

She quickly called the plumbing service. She knew that these people were good because Charles had used them for their water filter installation and for their sewage problems last year. Her husband was finicky about such things and if he had been happy with the service of this Inner West plumber, they had to be good!

The plumber from Inner West was at their doorstep in less than two hours. Christy was happy that the plumber had come even though the hour was late. He took one look at the heater and pronounced his verdict: the hot water service needed to be replaced.

He talked to her about hot water heaters and solar hot water. She liked the idea of installing a new solar hot water heater. The solar heater would save her money in government rebates and came with a free tempering valve and it could be installed today.

The plumber from Inner West came and installed the new hot water service in a few hours.

“Thank you for coming here. I could not go through another day without hot water.”

“Oh, we’re always dealing with these emergencies. And we’re used to providing instant service to people all the way from Annandale, Camperdown, Chippendale, Darlington, Forest Lodge, Newton and Glebe to Stanmore, Petersham, Leichhardt and Lilyfield. So, call us whenever you need us”, he said with a smile.

Plumbing emergencies can crop up any time in the form of broken pipes, water filter installation, blocked sewers, burst pipes or installation of new pipes and drains. Searching for a good plumber when you need them badly is a recipe for disaster.
